Storage During Move

If you need temporary storage during your move, consider renting a unit a few weeks before your move date. This allows you to move items gradually and reduces stress on moving day. Store items you won't need immediately to free up space in your new home.

Frequently Asked Questions

What items are prohibited from storage?

The following items are prohibited from storage:

  • Hazardous / flammable: gasoline, propane, fireworks, ammunition, chemicals, paint thinners, fertilizers, asbestos
  • Perishable / organic: food, produce, plants, live animals
  • Illegal / regulated: stolen goods, illegal substances, unregistered vehicles, weapons (unless legally stored and permitted)
  • Other restricted: tires, medical or bio waste, items that produce odors or attract pests

Can I live in or work out of a storage unit?

No. Storage units are for storing personal or business belongings only. Living, sleeping, using a unit as a residence or office, and operating a business or workspace from a unit are not allowed. Units do not have the facilities or approvals required for occupancy or regular work activities.

Do I need insurance for my stored items?

Cottonwood Storage does not provide coverage for your stored belongings. Without your own insurance or a tenant protection plan, your items are not covered in the event of damage, theft, or loss. We strongly recommend adding a tenant protection plan or confirming that your personal insurance covers items in storage.

What are the access hours?

Our facility offers 24/7 controlled access for your convenience. You can access your unit anytime using your secure access code. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

How do I pay my monthly rent?

You can pay online through our payment portal. We accept credit cards and debit cards.

Can I change my unit size later?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your unit size based on availability. Contact our office to discuss your options and we'll help you find the perfect fit.
